Meet Heidi Brooks of Eat Sleep Dream

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in your town?

I mostly grew up in Ardsley NY! I moved from NYC when I was 15 years old. Havent’t looked back since 🙂

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…

I have five younger siblings. Yep. I said FIVE.

Tell us more about your business?

Currently, I am focusing on Sleep Consulting but I am also a Certified Potty Training Consultant, I am trained by Jamie Glowacki of Oh Crap! Potty Training.

How did you go about starting your business?

I was working on my dissertation after my son was born and I was already so so tired. He was going through the 8 month sleep regression and I looked into a few sleep consultants. I got some great information and ideas from them. Later, I was looking into Sleep Consulting programs and found one that was research and evidence based. The dork in me jumped into the program.

How are you trying to reach moms in the community?

Instagram! It is how I connected with all kinds of moms my first year of motherhood. There is a strong community there and my Instagram friends have become real life friends, best friends really.

What are some of the challenges you face as a mom and business owner?

Ah, Momming and working is always a hot button topic! But, you know what? I work around my kids. I am super lucky I have great familial support.

What are some of your favorite me time things to do in your area?

Like most moms, get me a coffee and a stroll through Target and I am a happy camper! BUT for more intensive me/we time, a bottle of wine from Suburban Wine and a dinner with my husband makes me super happy.

What are some of your favorite things to do with your child in your area?

Muscoot Farm! My son has us going every weekend and we are currently in LOVE with the Scottish Highland Cows!
