Winter and Spring Break Camp Programs in Westchester

1. School Break Camps 2020 at the Jacob Burns Film Center: They have two exciting school break camps for students in grades 5 – 8 where they can learn more about media and watch films (February 17 – 21) or learn how to make a short film from start to finish (April 6 – 10).

The Viewing and Doing session is where kids will learn how to play, make, and explore new types of media each day in a small group and come together with fellow campers to watch and review films. Campers dig into film-related games and activities in our production spaces and explore a range of media, including animation, film, sound, and gaming.

In the On the Set session, kids will get to write, direct, film, and edit a short film in a professional environment. Working in a group, you’ll learn to pitch and develop ideas, storyboard, design light and sound, and edit with Adobe Premiere Pro. This filmmaking immersion is an opportunity to see a short project through from concept to completion.

Both week long camps run from 9:00 am–4:00 pm, Price: $350 (members), $375 (nonmembers), A $20 registration fee will be added to all purchases.
