Exciting news from the Westchester Children’s Museum! They are emerging from the pandemic-related closure to reopen at 100% visitor capacity on Saturday, June 26. A Members Opening is planned for Saturday, June 19. Visitors will return to the reopened Museum to find an expanded, newly renovated space featuring increased opportunities for hands-on learning, STEM activities, expanded MakerSpace stations for different age groups, and interactive programs to inspire curiosity and critical thinking for toddlers through tweens.
The Museum completed a $1.2 million expansion and renovation in mid 2020 that brought the Museum’s space to over 20,000 square feet. The expanded space was completed just before the pandemic forced the museum to close and will finally be available to the public when the museum reopens.
The Museum is CDC compliant and has made changes to its systems and exhibits to keep visitors and staff safe and healthy. The Museum will close for one hour to be cleaned and reset between sessions. Visitors may purchase memberships to the Museum in advance that include the cost of parking in the lot the Museum shares with Playland Amusement Park.
