Meet a Mom Vanessa Siede owner and creator of Very Lovely Soles! | Northern Westchester Moms

Our meet a mom is Vanessa Seide creator and owner of Very Lovely Soles a fantastic shoe company that is fun and comfortable!

Where are you both from originally and how long have you lived in town? I am originally from Queens, NY but moved to Westchester when I was 10 and came back to the area about 6 years ago.

Do you have children and what fun age is she?   I have one daughter Olivia and she is 3.5

One thing people would be surprised to know about you

I am afraid of going through car washes, Like legit panic attacks. I have been working on this and since having my daughter it’s better but at one point in time it was horrible!

Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?

Oh gosh there are so many I would like to thank, But if I had to pick one person in particular it would be Alanna Nolan. We were pregnant during covid and gave birth around the same time. With everything basically shut down and no real resources we only had each other to navigate through first time motherhood. I was so thankful to have her during that crucial time.

Favorite things to do with your child? Honestly she is at an age right now that just about anything. To see her eyes light up for something so basic as bubbles popping is the best! To experience life through her eyes right now is honestly my favorite thing.

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now? Oh my. I have met so many amazing people, you being one of them. But there is a sense of community/we are all in this together mentally here that I didn’t feel in the previous town I came from. Everyone here genuinely wants to help anyone/everyone. That’s how I operate so to be in a town that operates that way too seems just right.

Tell us about VLS

Very Lovely Soles is my first baby. I have had my ups and downs but no matter what I love it and I can’t seem to let it go even at times I most likely should have. But here I am 12+ years later still putting along. I never wanted it to be a full shoe collection. I wanted 2 classic styles that can be a staple in anyone’s closet.  It’s supposed to be a less is more line, I give you what you need; quality at an affordable price and hopefully I can be your flats/sandal brand for as long as I am around. Well the brand at least,

Tell us about mom entrepreneur life

All I can honestly say is IT”S HARD! When I started the business I had no husband or child. Now I have both. This is one of the hardest things I have had to juggle ever. But, somehow I feel like I am doing it and it’s given me a new sense of I truly can do just about anything I put my mind to. Don’t get me wrong I can’t do it all on the same day, but I manage to get it done!!
