Northern Westchester Mom :  Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?

Christina Collins: Born and raised in Westchester my whole life! Went to Pelham High School and was athlete of the year there, I have always been interested in reaching my potential through pushing my body and mind in movement and sports and exercise. Fast forward to adulthood and that looks like me completing ultra marathons, 50K, 50 miler and next up this year 100 a goal I have been working on for a while!

Northern Westchester Mom: Children and Age(s)?

Christina Collins: I am boy mom X2, Tyler age 5 and Kyle is age

Northern Westchester Mom: One thing people would be surprised to know about you…

Christina Collins: I am vegetarian, I do not eat meat/fish/chicken nothing with a face haha oh and I do not have Netflix, I LOVE to read.

Northern Westchester Mom: Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?

Christina Collins: My MOM without a doubt!

Northern Westchester Mom: Favorite things to do with your kids?

Christina Collins: Fit-tivities I call them! We do them each weekend! New hikes and new coffee shops or hikes and brewery/wineries all throughout NY – Hudson Valley. We road trip and explore trails up to 3 hours away.

Northern Westchester Mom: How did Never Stop Moving 365 come about?

Christina Collins: We see so many students in gym class who do not want to participate or don’t enjoy themself because of the fear or peer judgment (their classmates) and a growing group of students who simply do not thrive in traditional team sports. Parents often call us as young as in elementary school and say what do I do my kid doesn’t like town tee ball or rec. soccer. and I always tell them BUT that doesn’t mean they aren’t an athlete.
In Westchester, if you don’t play a certain sport from age 5 it is hard at ten to say oh I want to try X new sport at age 10 because their peers have played it for thousands of hours by then. So I created NeverStopMoving365 sports and exercise tutoring so kids had an alternative, inclusive option for physical activity and sports that builds confidence and competence but NOT competition.

NeverStopMoving365 has expanded to services likes birthday parties and weekly classes so kids of all abilities can shine while they move their body and develop a positive relationship with movement and exercise to live a healthy lifestyle for many years to come.

Northern Westchester Mom: How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?

Christina Collins: This community values their child’s success and prioritizes health and movement. We have had kids of the same family do sports lessons with us, swim lessons have their birthday party with us, host back yard camps on days school is closed, all in one year!
