Have you started (or finished?!) your holiday gift shopping for your kids? Recently, Layla Lisiewski, co-founder and CEO of The Local Moms Network, appeared on CNBC to discuss how supply chain issues were adding another layer of holiday stress for parents this season.  “Most of the moms in our network of over 100 suburbs are shopping early so they don’t risk not getting the gifts they want because of supply chain issues—about 75% of the ones we talked to have already started and some have even completed the process, and of those about 50% are having a tough time getting what they want even this early on,” says Layla.  She adds, “The fastest way to get your hands on gifts is to shop locally!”

Check out some of Layla’s and our picks below:

Snuggy Buddy

A great gift for moms to be or new moms, the Snuggy Buddy is the ultimate wearable lovely that includes a safe, plush, and attached weighted butterfly located at the chest level as well as an unweighted. Available for babies 6-12 months and an unweighted one for babies 12-18 months. this innovative lovely is expertly crafted by mom, Susan Bartone that was designed to give babies something to hold onto for comfort. In addition to the cool design, the Snuggy Buddy is made out of a breathable and triple-layered breathable fabric that also includes easy in-and-out access for diaper and clothing changes. Magic Mixies Cauldron

This is one of this year’s hottest toys. Kids can conjure up an interactive “Mixie” creature using magic. They add water and are prompted by the cauldron to add a variety of mystical ingredients that foam, bubble, and help create the Mixie — an interactive, magical pet. This is sold out almost everywhere—a toughie to find it but you’ll be a hero if you do.

L.O.L. Surprise! O.M.G. Movie Magic Studios

No surprise here – LOL Surprise dolls continue to be a popular item. The Movie Magic studio comes with over 70 surprises to unbox and 12 dolls to film movies with.

Extra Large Pop Its

The curious obsession with pop its continues…my kids love these I think because of the same reason we love to pop the bubbles in bubble wrap, and now you can add an extra-large version to your collections at home. Kids are even turning it into a game to play with a friend to see who can pop the most first.

Rockets of Awesome

This is on my list this year to help me clothe my 4 kids! The Big Kids Subscription Box includes a fun and fresh wardrobe for kids 2 – 14. The Mini Gifting Box for Babies 0 – 12 Months just came out in early November! Some stand out items include the Puffer Jackets and Unique Pieces for Holiday Parties and Beyond. Use the code LOCALMOMS20 for 20 percent off your first purchase (both subscription and e-commerce). If shoes are on your list, Style Child has an adorable selection of shoes for kids.

Experiences is a also big one!

My co-founder Jessica Blouin has kids who are a little older and it’s all about the experiences. Disney, Europe, dude ranches, glamping … travel is coming back and gifts like ski gear is hot. Other experiences include supporting your local theaters and Broadway and cooking classes!

Activity gifts, like art projects, Lego sets, sports equipment, and indoor play sets like spider swings are also popular.

Finally, we’re seeing a spike in gifting enrichment programs memberships (especially from the grandparents) for things like a membership to Rocket Club, a STEM and entrepreneurship program for school-aged children.
