February 15th: Printmaking Workshop: Honoring Black History Month at the Hudson River Museum from 1:30pm-3:30pm
Artist and educator Kay Douglas will lead a printmaking workshop at the Hudson River Museum. The printmaking workshop is free (with regular museum admission) where visitors will use Styrofoam block, stamps and ink to create portraits of Black leaders in US history.
Saturday, February 22nd: American Girl Addy’s Quilt – Black History Month Celebration from 11:00am – 12:00pm
Girls ages 8 and older can join Girl AGain to learn more about the American Girl character, Addy Walker’s life and make a no-sew a patchwork quilt for their dolls. All supplies are included and the workshop costs $15.
February 26th: Soul Voices: Lift Ev’ry Voice: “Lift Every Voice” at Purchase College at 7:00pm
A12th annual concert in celebration of Black History Month, Soul Voices honors the black experience, performed by a diverse group of students. The BFA Junior Acting Company will share also spoken word highlighting Black American stories of triumph and success. The event is free.
February 29th: Black History Month Celebration with the New Rochelle Council on the Arts from 1:00pm-4:00pm
Attend the 8th annual Black History Month event where guests can experience the WABSE Spoken Word and Art Show, City School District of New Rochelle student work, kids activities, food vendors, crafts vendors, book sales, author signings, student performances, professional performances, and more. The art show and kids activities are FREE and performances cost $5 for adults and $3 for students. All proceeds go to scholarships.

Catching the Moon: The Story of a Young Girl’s Baseball Dream. Hear the story of Toni Stone, one of the first women to play professional baseball, as well as books with similar themes. Afterwards families can create a collage celebrating Black History Month and their dreams for the future.
