Meet a mom of 4 Colette Lopane Capella, founder and director of New Day Vitality, a holistic psychotherapy group practice in Yorktown Heights. Let’s learn more about Colette and how she balances it all.
Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?
I’m originally from New Rochelle, NY, and recently made the move to Yorktown Heights with my family. We absolutely love it here. There’s something so special about this community—the small-town charm, supportive families, and incredible local businesses make it feel like home.
Child(ren) and Age(s)?
I’m a proud mom of four amazing children: a 6-year-old, a 5-year-old, and 2-year-old twins! It’s definitely a wild ride filled with chaos, laughter, snack requests, and endless love. Some days are beautifully messy, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
I’m a true Disney addict! I’ve been to Disney over 100 times and still get just as excited every single visit. Disney has always represented magic, possibility, and dreaming big—and those are values I try to bring into my everyday life.
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
My mom. She may not be physically here, but she is with me every single day in spirit. She taught me courage, patience, resilience, and unconditional love. So much of who I am as a mother comes from the example she set for me.
Favorite things to do with your child/children?
Dance parties in the kitchen, family adventures, making memories together, and of course… Disney World! Some of our best moments happen during the simple everyday things when we’re just laughing and being together.
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
This community is filled with incredible women and entrepreneurs who inspire me daily. I’ve been fortunate to connect with so many supportive, driven, and compassionate people who remind me that when women support each other, amazing things happen.
Tell us about your work and what you have coming up that’s new and exciting.
I’m the Founder and Director of New Day Vitality, a holistic psychotherapy group practice in Yorktown Heights. We provide individual, couples, and family therapy for all ages, with a special passion for supporting women, mothers, and families through life’s challenges and transitions.
One of my newest and most exciting ventures has been purchasing a building in Yorktown Heights and transforming it into a beautiful wellness and therapy space where other therapists can grow their practices and serve our community. Creating spaces for healing, connection, and growth has become one of my greatest passions.
What was your inspiration for your work?
Growing up, there was one person who truly saw me, believed in me, and helped change the trajectory of my life. That experience taught me the incredible power of being seen and supported. Today, I strive to be that person for others and create spaces where people feel understood, empowered, and hopeful.
Tell us about your mom life and how you balance it all.
The truth? I don’t believe in perfect balance. I ride the waves each day as they come, embracing the beautiful chaos of motherhood and entrepreneurship. Some days I’m crushing my to-do list, and other days I’m just trying to keep everyone fed and happy. What keeps me grounded is remembering that ten years ag, this life was only a dream. Now I get to live it everyday-messy moments, magical moments, and everything in between,
