Meet Alysa DiMarco a busy of almost 4 and local Northern Westchester mom and owner of the State Farm Insurance Agency in Bedford Hills! She shares her favorites in the area and all she has going on and how she balances it all!
Where are you both from originally and how long have you lived in town?
My husband, Mike, and I were born and raised in Rochester, NY. We moved to
Westchester in 2016 to open my State Farm office in Bedford Hills. Since then, my
husband has also opened a State Farm office in Rye, NY. We live in Cortlandt Manor.
Child(ren) and Age(s)?
We have a son and 2 (almost 3) daughters. Michael (6), Blair (4), Molly (3), Baby girl due
in March, 2025.
Would love to know all you do in our community and why they are all important to you
My team and I love to be a part of events in the community and support local
organizations. Some of these include: K5K and other KVIS events, BHNA events,
Bedford Hills Library Events, Trifesta, John Jay Trail Race and we are a BH Elementary
sponsor, among others. I feel it’s important to give back to the community I serve. I am
also working to get the Bedford Hills Business Association up and running to help
promote all Bedford Hills businesses and create more vibrancy in the hamlet. Bedford
Hills has so much to offer and having the communication with businesses and the
community will be so impactful.
One thing people would be surprised to know about you….
I knit!! Mostly personalized baby blankets. It’s such a “grandma” thing to do but I love
how relaxing it is and it’s so nice to have such a beautiful keepsake at the end. I learned
how to knit from my grandma and plan on passing the hobby down to my children.
Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
100% my husband!!! We don’t live near family so it’s just us figuring this all out daily. We
are true equals in all things parenthood and I couldn’t be more grateful. He calms me
down and has the best sense of humor that helps during the craziness of it all!!
Favorite things to do with your children?
We love to have family time at home. Our lives are so busy so that is the most
meaningful to us. Popcorn parties and a movie are our go to!! We also love to travel with
our kids. Showing and teaching them about the world has been so fun and rewarding to
watch through their eyes. Some of our recent trips include Hawaii, Portugal and Italy.
How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
Even though we represent the largest insurance company in the nation, we are a true
small local business. My customers are so important to me because they are my
livelihood. I appreciate all of you that shop local!! If I didn’t have my customers, I
wouldn’t have a business and I am proud to say I have been in business for over 8
years!
What is your favorite thing about owning your own Insurance Agency?
I love being able to help the community in their best and worst times. Whether it’s having
a new baby, retiring, buying their first home, saving for college, getting into a car
accident or having a fire, my team and I are there for them.
Tell us about your mom life and how do you manage it all……
Is managing it all actually possible?! Being a business owner gives me the flexibility to
*attempt* to manage it all. My husband and I split all house and children duties. It also
helps that we have the same job so we can step in at each other’s offices if needed.
Having a very clear schedule that both my husband and I have discussed and can
access anytime has been a game changer (and having the understanding that the
schedule can change on a moment’s notice). I am absolutely a perfectionist and like all
moms, try to be the best I can be, but I try not to be too hard on myself on the crazy days
when I don’t feel like I did it all. As long as they are safely and happily in bed at the end
of the day, I consider it a good day! Haven’t missed a day yet!

Favorite date night spot – 3 Westerly in Ossining (outdoor seating when its nice out!)
Favorite restaurant to go as a family – Any and all diners
Favorite place to go out with friends – Staying at home in our best comfy clothes with some
yummy appetizers and wine
Favorite place to go to have fun as a family – Muscoot Farm with a trip to King Kone after
